What program are you using to print? This should be a property of Word or your browser.

I am coming to this party very late, but three days ago my printer decided not to print on glossy HP photo paper either! I have an Officejet Pro 8100 and it was just a year old. Of course HP could not talk with me because I was out of warranty but told me most likely it was the hardware anyway and I should give up and buy a new one... Then I remembered I had purchased the extended warranty from Office Depot (highly recommend). Took in my printer and they gave me a new one! So I spent my $13 and bought a new extended warranty, none of this tech support for hours and having to pay for parts, just a brand new printer. Boy was I happy. Until of course I brought it home, installed it and it doesn't print on glossy photo paper!!! It says there is no paper in the printer. It will print on regular paper but not photo paper, which is really the only reason to buy an inkjet anyway! So I did spend the last two hours on tech support and they have NO FIX! They cannot tell me why a brand new printer out of the box does not print on photo paper but it will print on regular paper. Obviously it is a software issue and not a hardware issue, so all of you who are throwing away your printers, I am willing to bet you did a Windows update and didn't realize that suddenly there is an issue with your printer. It was probably so benign you never made the connection, because I can't think of any other reason it wouldn't work... of course they have to research it and will get back to me in 24-48 hours... is if they do figure it out, I will post...but really really disappointing HP! Thought you would have figured this out after 10 years....They have to write the fix I am guessing... who knows when that will happen. Obviously HP is not that concerned. :-(

I have an HP Officejet Pro 8100 brand new out of the box and it won't print on HP Photo paper, only regular paper. The size is 8.5 x 11. Was on Tech support for 2 hours to no avail, they could not explain why my brand new inkjet printer will not print photos... pretty ridiculous. Why would anyone buy an inkjet if not to print photos... Very frustrating. They say it is not a known issue but after reinstalling software, and everything, the techs could not figure it out. Need to wait 24-48 hours for research... ugh. Very frustrated. Had a deadline to print pictures and that will pass... Very disappointed in HP.

Please be more descriptive. For example, were you recieving a print error message on your printer or PC? Was there a defect on the prints that made them unacceptable? Or did nothing happen as if the printer was not connected correctly?
8.5x11 is pretty large for photos, even if you are not printing on the entire page. Perhaps you didnt have somethign configured correctly in the photo printing application that you were using. You could try printing from another PC to see if you get the same results. Or you could try printing from another photo application such as MS paint, word, fax and scan wizzard, adobe acrobat, etc.

I ran into this probem as well. I tried everything and nothing worked. I called my tech guy in and after 2+ hours he found a solution. Since the driver doesn't support remote printing with the 8610 he rolled back to the 8600 driver on both the server and local machine and it worked.

I'm suddenly having this problem as well. I just scanned a document and started scanning another document with FoxIt PDF Reader. FoxIt crashed and now this happens. After I plug it in, the scanner seems to activate, but the carriage (part with the bright light that moves along the bed) attempts to move in the wrong direction. Rather than moving to the left, it backs up to the right. Even once it's moved as far as it can, the motor continues to try to move it for around 60+ seconds. It's like it's trying to finish the scan that crashed, but in reverse...
Seems like there's still no one that's found a solution to this problem, but figured I'd try posting and see...

LaserJet Pro 400 MFP M425 network scan isn't working
Hello, i'm done and can't do anything more by myself, asking you to help me. We're having this pretty nice MFP connected to the LAN directly in our organization, but not long ago it's function of network scanning(via HP Scan.exe) has broken. Sry for my eng, i'm not good at it. It stopped to work on a several computers, showing the same message at all of them:
First, i've tried to do some actions with MFP like switching on\off, detaching RJ-45, power, etc.
Then i've tried to uninstall current and install new full software solution from site. In the end of process i've got an error, which appears again if i press retry:
After install network printing is working, exactly like it was before, but network scan is showing me the same error.
I've upgraded firmware with M425_MFP_Series_FW_Update-20150212.exe, taken from the site. Nothing changed.
I've tried to solve this with Hp Print and Scan Doctor, it has found problem with scan, and suggested to uninstall this ver and install new from the site, but result is the same error in the end of install.
Please help, i don't know what to do(

We have been donated a 6040 and have found that most of the device is locked down, I am myself a IT Support Engineer and know of a Cold Reset but just to comfirm if I was to reset the device will it allow me to reset the Service Engineer code or set Send to Folder or Email. And will it work straight after the reset.

Printer Cartridges Not in Up position
Received error messase Ox610000d3-There is a problem with the printer system. I opened to front door to check the cartridges, and they are not in the "up" position where I can remove them. I have unplugged the power from the power source and then plugged it back in. Still getting error message and cartridges are not accessable. Any suggestions?
Scanning from HP LaserJet 500 MFP M575
I just installed a new HP LaserJet 500 MFP M575. I have access via a local computer (i.e. no network and no internet access). I would like to scan to my local computer. My only options seem to be email, network, or USB flashdrive. I do not have internet access so email does not work. I only have local access so the netwoek does not work. I could use a USB flashdrive, but do not have access on my local computer to download from a USB flashdrive, so this option does not work either. I scanned to device memory, but cannot determine how to get the file to my computer. I can only seem to print it from the device memory.
Help!! I just want to scan to my local computer.

False paper jam OFFICEJET PRO X476
False paper jam (ADF section), blocking control panel and scanner function.
There is no paper jam, no paper left anywhere. Have tried all guidelines to reset, including power off for 60 sec, factory reset and running thorugh af sheet of paper manually, but no result. The control panel on the printer is blocked by the error message. Clicking ok, makes the rollers turn for 3 seconds, but no clearance. Can print from pc, but not scan from pc, gets error message of paper jam.
As I understand it, I am not the only one in the world experiencing this, however I have despite extensive self-care not found any solution that can fix it. Have registered a warranty case with HP, but no repsonse so far.
Anybody how could help me out here?

Try a different print driver. Your printer should be compatible with the HP Universal Print Driver. Visit http://support.hp.com and search for UPD to find one for your OS. Any of the UPD versions will do, you can choose from PCL5, PCL6 and PS. I suggest trying one that is different from your current default print driver.
Cannot enable Web Services for Officejet Pro 276dw MFP
I am trying to enabling web services for Officejet Pro 276dw MFP - but it keeps failing.
I have tried enabling it from the printer and through the embedded web server.
I have manually set the IP address of the printer (and the DNS servers to use).

By local access do you mean the printer is connected by USB? And if so, why can't you insert the USB flashdrive?
Officejet Pro 276dw MFP - Black Horizontal Line at bottom when scanning with ADF

I just got an Officejet Pro 276dw MFP after having tried 4 Officetjet Pro 8620 printers which all had the problem that they made horizontal black lines at the bottom of the pages when scanning from ADF (it was not all pages, and often the black line was only in one of the sides.
But the Officejet Pro 276dw MFP I got as an replacement make these lines at all the pages. I have made a semi-full reset. Cleaned the ADF scanner and the rollers for the paper feeder. I use scan to email to avoid that printer drivers may affect the result. And make sure that the settings is A4 paper. I use A4 paper from HP. I have checked the firmware - it is the latest.
There is no problem when using the same ADF to copy the exact ame pages (just like with the 8620s)
Is it just normal for HP printers that they cannot do that?

It is under warranty, I have claimed a week ago, but it is hard to get any response from HP.
I will have to chase HP.
