Then contact your AP vendor and ask for suggestions. If your network is not configured to allow one subnet to communicate wtih another then there is nothing the printer can do. You need to configure your network correctly so that the necessary devices have access to the resources they need.
To help us better undestand what you are talking about please post your primary router and 2ndary AP model numbers. I'm sure being on a seperate subnet is not a requirement, but a suggestion by the manufacturer in regards to some specific objective you are aiming for.
