After performing 2014 firmware upgrades on MFPs (M4345, M4730, 4555) the printers will not print forms. To explain, my client uses a vendor software that prints IRS forms with data filled in. Since performing the firmware upgrades, the printer either prints the raw data positioned as though it is on the form, but no form prints; OR the form prints on the first page (as a blank form) and the data prints on a second page.
We have contacted the vendor. The vendor pushes the responsibility on to HP, stating that HP has informed them that HP dropped support for forms in late releases of firmware.
Can anyone verify where the truth lies?
How are we to 'secure' the printers (MFPs) from the latest vulnerabilities with firmware upgrades and still maintain functionality in situations like this?
