Re: SEEKING SCANNING SOFTWARE OPTIONS FOR LASERJET M3035xs

This sentance catches my eye:

 - We cannot set up standard folders on the scanner because there are simply too many

The M3035 is not a home or personal use printer.  This printer model does not come with scanning software that is designed to be installed on a users machine.  Instead of supporting scanning software this printer was designed to require users to scan jobs from the control panel and send them to centralized locations such as an email server or a network folder.  You can still do what you want to do, just not how you would prefer to do it coming from a personal use printer model experience.

The problem is that any software that you personally install on your computer is going to stay on your computer.  That  means you would have to initiate a scan from your desktop which will still require someone to physically load the jobs.  Once the job is done scanning then your personal scanning software would give you the option to finish and send it directly to its destination.  Repeating this process for each scan job doesnt sound like it would be very efficient for you, especially if you had multiple jobs to scan at once.

The way I see it the most efficient way for you to manage multiple scan destinations with this printer model is scan them to a single location like your email account or a network folder.  Once all your scanning is done then head back to your desk and use your file management tools to manually move the jobs around.

You could take that idea one step further and automate the delivery process.  For example, if you dump your files in a single network folder then you can rig up a script to check that folder for updates and shoot them along to a destination.  However, a script like this would take some programming skills and also some unique document names to make sure everything goes where it needs to.  Something like this should be coordinated with your IT department so that they are aware of what you are trying to do and can allocate any resources they have to assist you.

Unfortunetly I dont have any more specific sofware recommendations beyond that.  In truth any kind of imaging application such as MS Paint, MS Scanner and Camera wizard, MS Word or Acrobat can pull scan jobs from a network printer and you more than likely already have them installed.  But you must initiate a scan pull from the application before it will give you the choice to save it to a destination.
