Thank you for your quick reply! I do accept that I will always need to go to my scanner to load and unload documents - the problem for me is standing at the equipment for long periods emailing the documents to myself. (Then at my desktop I open the scanned document and save it to the destination folder, which requires a number of steps and is not very efficient.) Each of the documents I'm scanning must to go a different network folder that is many layers deep in the hierarchy. We cannot set up standard folders on the scanner because there are simply too many. If there were a way to control a scanner from my desktop and send the document directly to its destination it would be much more efficient. I can do this on my home network with my 4-in-1 printer/scanner! I guess that's what's bothering me so much. I can do this on a $200 piece of equipment, but it's impossible with all the resources at work? It just doesn't seem right. Anyway, my I.T. Department suggested that I investigate scanning software to see if that might be the answer, but I don't have any expertise in this area. Any thoughts? Thank you!
