officejet 6500 e709n. hp print and scan doctor 4.2 - fix printing - test print has light grey, darkest grey, middle grey as output when it should be black, medium, light. print test page through printer LCD has no black output. using align or clean, no change.
replaced black cartridge with new HP. same result
cleaned print head. there was heavy build up of ink on print head carrier. same result.
replace print head. same result.
uninstalled and installed software.
tried on multiple Win7 64 machines via LAN.
unplugged while on to reset. same result.
out of warranty.
is there something different between the internal print test page and pc print and scan doctor?
