The media is the same as we can print something out, and then take that paper and try to copy or scan it and have problems with it. If we do adjust the settings (temporarily) for the 1 job, we can get the copy to be right, or the scan to be right. But if we try to adjust the settings permanently, it will either fix the copy, but mess up the scan, or fix the scan and mess up the copy.
It looks like we may need a professional to come look at our printer. Otherwise it sounds like this needs be opened up which isn't a bad thing since it's way out of warranty.
