I assume you are connected to the VIA a network card apposed to the USB port. I have a similar problem in that when I clone my hard drive to another drive some how the process corrupts the network connection, yet another programs wanting to print work fine, just not Hp Solution Center. Although if you connect the USB cable it will work.
I am told by Archons, the software for cloning, Hp has the problem. This only happens with W 7, Windows XP didn't. Hp tried to be very fancy with the installation of the All in One Software with fancy pictures and such, the functionality configuring to use the network suck. All worked just fine if you use the USB port but then as a network print forget. There should be a sub module that will function on its own just to configure the network connection. There were several attempts but they each were UN stable. Sometimes it would work more often NOT.
At the moment you need to do a complete uninstall of the Hp's software then reinstall for the printer not Pease milling it as the program would have you do, and start from scratch all over again. The HP programmer has a problem initializing variables
