Well thats no good. Sounds like a boot problem.
Try removing all network and USB connections and rebooting the PC. Some machine may be trying to jam print jobs down its throat and the printer may not be ready to recieve them yet. Delete all print jobs from any queues you may be sending jobs from while you are at it so when you reconnect nothing is submitted until you say so.
After you monkey around with queued jobs then its time to start swapping parts. Start by removing the HD and RAM to see if you can influence the boot sequence at all. Printers boot up and check every component thats connected, a little trial and error can let you learn which parts pass the boot check and which ones dont.
Pay careful attention to the screen as it boots. Note what messages are flashed and what finishes before the machine freezes up.
