In my office, we have to print shipping labels. For our USPS shipping labels, we use Stamps.com and batch import the labels through a CSV. Once imported into our Stamps.com software, we can select a hundred or so of the labels and print them all at once.
However, Stamps.com works directly with the USPS and reports each printed label individually to the USPS as having been printed, subtracts the cost of that label from our Stamps.com account, and then sends that label to the printer before moving onto the next one. Normally, this is very fast with our old laser printer since it takes all of the jobs and stacks them.
However, with our x551dw, as well as my co-worker's x476dw, it has a big delay between each label printed. The speed of printing is lost due to the long wait between print jobs. Since the software is not designed to print all as one file (due to its reporting to the postal service), it must create them as separate jobs.
This is particularly frustrating as our old laser printer is failing and it's only used for labels at this time. I don't want to invest anymore money in my (other brand) laser printer - I want to invest in this blazing fast HP officejet! Please, have a team work to fix this so I can keep buying your ink and promoting your product when talking with other small businesses at trade shows!
