Actually changing NPI6A6BFE would be great, but it won't save, it jujst reverts back to that name.
Thank you for your reply, but users should not have to add the printer, then print a test page to see where it comes out, then rename it on their machine accordingly. Can you imagine having to do this in a large office where there are 50 printers, or 100 and the CEO comes out of his office wondering about all the test pages his printer randomly spits out?
I want them to be able to use the Add printer feature in Windows or MAc, and choose it by an intuitive name. The manual indicates it will work this way, but the field they say to change does not exist.
Hopefully HP wil have some worthwhile input here?
