We are having printer issues with a Windows Server 2008 R2 Foundation server. We have tried installing various Officejet printers, that work elsewhere, but we get an error from all of the drivers that we download or the same message from a CD install.
We have tried to use a new Officejet Pro 8600 Plus and an Officejet 6700 Premium, but the software errors out saying that we do not have a compatible operationg system even though the HP site says that it is supported.
At this point I would just like a list of compatible printers that work with the stripped down Foundation version of server 2008 and I will buy one and get this working.
I have tried universal drivers and drivers for different models. I can print to a PDF writer and this use to work on the 8600 Plus until Microsoft ran an update about 3 months ago.
