I have a very large scanning projects (hundreds of thousands of pages) before me. I am on a large corporate network that is not very flexible. As my scanner is currently set up, I must go to the scanner and from there send the document to a holding folder. When I have finished with a large number of documents, I go to my desk and move them all to their final destinations. This is both inefficient and physically taxing, as the scanner is too high for me to see the touchpad and I must stand on a stool to use it. (There's nowhere to move it to make that situation better.) What would be ideal is to be able to (1) control the process from my desktop and (2) be able to send the documents directly to their final destination folder on the network. My I.T. department tells me this is not possible with our current scanner software. Does anyone know if there is other software that would work with a large corporate network structure? Any other ideas? I asked I.T. if using a small 4-in-1 printer/scanner attached to my P.C. would work, and was told it would be incompatible with the corporate network. I am willing to entertain any ideas that anybody has. Thank you!
