I had a B109n and when I had to re-run setup to change network settings, the scan function stopped working. I found some threads online that pinned it down to some sort of issue with Windows 7 and HP updates and eventually I got tired of battling so I went out and bought a new printer - the HP Photosmart 5520.
I ran setup from the CD that came with it but am having the same problem!!!
When I run HP Scan I get the message: "The HP Photosmart 5520 series was not found." Yet the device is there in 'Devices and Printers'
When I try scan from the device it tells me: "The computer is not responding. Check if the USB cable attached or wireless working properly, then try again."
Same thing happens whether I try over USB or wireless.
Scan Doctor does not help - it tells me the driver is not working, I must power off and reboot. I did this then it said the problem is still not fixed, I must go to the HP Website.
So here I am. Please can someone help me, I am so frustrated!!!
My laptop is an HP Pavilion and it is running Windows 7 Home Premium.
