Everything needed to configure the default Scan to Folder/Email options can be accessed through the EWS (Embedded Web Server).
To review your scan settings:
1. Enter the IP Address of the printer into a web browser
2. Click on the Digital Sending Tab
3. Click the Send to Folder or Email Settings button
4. Review the filename prefix options that are available for you
As with any problem like this where the printer doesnt seem to be behaving the way a feature is assumed to behave the first thing you should do is check for firmware updates and apply them. Chances are if a feature is not working as intended a firmware change is needed to go out and fix the problem.
