New HP 7610 connected to 3G router via WiFi, during installation was unable to set as default printer, In Printers - Cutepdf was set as default and could not be changed. At this stage the 7610 could be selected in Word and printed OK. In Excel the 7610 printer and fax showed in dropdown list but would continue to try to communicate. Acrobat Reader's dropdown list only showed Cutepdf and Windows print utilty. Deleted Cutepdf and rebooted, Acrobat Reader was then the only program still showing Cutepdf (checked registry and found nothing). Re-installed Cutepdf, un-installed Acrobat reader V11 and installed V9 which solved that problem although default printer can still not be changed. All programs now print correctly except Excel, the 7610 printer and fax show ready but cannot be selected, reverts back to Cutepdf after selecting. Re-installed old HP81 (local printer for testing) which prints the excel file but also cannot be set as default. In the meantime an Excel file now has to be saved as pdf and then printed.
Changed to LAN connection with the same results.
