Printer : HP OfficeJet Pro x476dw MFP, UK
I am using software called Discus 3.16 which is a CD and DVD cover printing program. I have a dual boot PC, one with Windows XP 32bit and the other with Windows 7 64bit. Up until recently I just used XP and everything was fine. Since installing and using Windows 7 64bit I have found that if I print out more than 1 copy it often (but not always) will only print a large black (or very dark grey, hard to tell what it is) page there-after. First prints ALWAYS work, it is only when I need to print more than one in a row I have an issue (I could print 1, then 1 okay, but not if I select 2 at once).
So for instance, the software comes with templates, if I want to print a DVD sleeve off the first print comes out fine, but the second one will just be fully black the size of the DVD template, and often you can see the edges of the proper sleeve poking out around the black (the bits you are meant to cut off outside the template). So I am NOT talking just black ink instead of colour, I mean the entire page is fully black, no gaps or spaces, except at the outside edge where the black box ends.
This is very hard to describe, as it makes no sense to me at all. I can get it working by using software called Clever Print, if I print to that, and then to my printer, it works for multiple copies. If I go direct to the printer though without it, it won't. However, in Windows XP it still prints fine on 2nd pages and more.
I can tell when it is not going to work as the printer pauses after the first print and then goes very slow. But it is inconsistant, as sometimes it will print more than 1 sheet in a row fine, about 30% of the time. I have tried using different compatibility mode options but none help.
Any help ? I might be able to take a photo of the type of error if needed.
