I am trying to use a bash script to prepend some postscript to files for printer tray selection(the script simply cats the postscript with the file to be printed, and then calls lpr to print). With our previous HP printer, we just used the MediaPosition command to configure which paper tray to print from for specific jobs. I read the M4555 documentation to find the MediaPositions for trays 4 and 5, but whenever I use those arguments the printer defaults to printing from tray 3. The paper in trays 4 and 5 are different from tray 3(Color and Recycled vs. Plain), and correctly show up on the front panel display. I have even tried using MediaType (Color) and MediaType (Recycled) in the postscript, but that has the same results.
Are there any known issues with the M4555 processing postscript for tray selection? Thanks for any feedback or suggestions.
